Latest Updates from Our Project:

Mini print surveys should be working for everyone now! Clear instructions with pictures!
about 4 years ago – Sun, Mar 01, 2020 at 10:54:22 PM

I think I figured it out! It's slightly different for Kickstarter backers vs the BackerKit pre-orders. I'll break them down individually.

If you preordered on BackerKit:

Just logon to BackerKit by using your email here.

Then click on "Edit Your Order" in the top right of the screen.

step 1

Then click on "Edit Add-on Questions".

step 2

Your survey will pop up, and you'll be able to chose your print from a drop-down menu! If a print doesn't appear in the menu, all the copies have been spoken for.

If you backed on Kickstarter:

Logon to your BackerKit account using your email address here.

Your page should look something like this. Click on next "Next" in the lower right corner until you get to the print question. It will be the second-to-last question in the survey. If a print doesn't appear in the menu, all the copies have been spoken for.

This should work for everyone, but if anyone is having trouble, please feel free to contact me! I am more than happy to do it manually.

Also sorry for all the email spam, I hate doing that! 🙊🙊 Here's hoping the next peep you hear from me is about decks shipping

If you are not getting an option to fill out the mini print survey, THIS UPDATE'S FOR YOU!
about 4 years ago – Sun, Mar 01, 2020 at 10:24:03 PM

The not-Kickstarter-backers who pre-ordered decks directly through BackerKit are currently not granted access to the mini linocut print survey. It's an issue that's totally stumped me that I have contacted BackerKit about. Unfortunately they will not be able to respond until tomorrow morning (about 15 hours after this update posts). I'm certain this will get resolved fairly quickly once I hear back from them then. For now, those of you whom cannot access this survey are invited to contact me directly with your top 3 print choices or leave me a comment here. Right now, all the print options are still available, but that may change before I can get this issue solved tomorrow morning.

Please use BackerKit's platform to contact me, which you can access here: https://the-brady-tarot-second-edition.backerkit.com/faq#contact-us Or you can leave a comment in the comments section here!

For the next 7 hours I will be frequently checking my email and will manually add your print choices as I receive them. You should get a confirmation email from me once your choice is added. I'll post another quick update once the surveys are working properly for y'all.

Not the most elegant solution, but it's been working well so far. So sorry for any inconvenience, and as always your support is so very much appreciated!

Images of the Mini Linocut prints; Print surveys launch TOMORROW! Also very small update about decks!
about 4 years ago – Sat, Feb 29, 2020 at 11:32:35 PM

All the mini linocuts are printed and dried, so I can finally scan and share all the images with you! You will be able to choose your print on BackerKit starting Sunday March 1st at 2 pm (14:00) Denver time, which seems to be a fairly reasonable time for most of the countries I'm shipping to.  You can translate this time into your timezone here! If it's a weird time for you, I'm so sorry! I did my best! 🙇‍♀️

1. Timber Wolf with Incense Sage ; 2. Black Vulture ; 3. Raven Steals the Moon! ; 4. Barn Owl ; 5. Elk Cow with flowering Streambank Globemallow
6. American Brown (Grizzly) Bear ; 7. American Bison ; 8. Bobcat Kitten chasing American Robin
9. Golden Eagle with White Sage ; 10. American Red Fox ; 11. Virginia Opossum ; 12. Eastern Bumblebee with Dandelion

You will receive one print per deck ordered, and there will be 66 prints per image. Each print will be signed, numbered, and embossed with my new shop chop by yours truly.

I plan to post another quick update tomorrow when those surveys go live! :)

And a very small update about decks: Everyone in the factory has returned to work, so things will be moving forward soon. I was told yesterday that the belly bands were being printed and the decks will get packaged for shipment soon. So they could get shipped out as early as next week, or they could get shipped out in two weeks. Wish I could be more specific about their ship date from China, but that's all I've got for now!

As always, I will keep you all updated once I know more! Thank you everyone for your patience and support, y'all rock my world 🤗🤗🤗

DECK PICS!!, some updates about progress, the first batch of mini-prints, and (some) product pics!
about 4 years ago – Mon, Feb 17, 2020 at 12:26:00 AM

DECKS!

First, deck progress! Just before Chinese New Year started, I was told all the decks, books, and boxes were complete, however the belly bands (the paper band with the barcode and deck info) had not yet been printed. Therefore, they were unable to ship the decks out before the start of the CNY holiday. Since the start of the holiday in mid-January, I have not received any word from the printers. It looks like things are in lock-down in China because of the coronavirus outbreak, so there's not much for us to do but be patient at this point. Hopefully everyone is healthy and doing well over there. I will of course post an update as soon as I get any info that updates the timeline. It's a bummer having to wait around, but production ALWAYS has these weird unforeseen hurdles!!

In the mean time, I was shipped 2 decks for my approval right before they went on holiday, and they look amazing!

The cardstock feels substantial while being slightly more flexible than the last edition, the boxes are more compact and lightweight while still being sturdy, and the prints look so good. Much love to Shenzhen Wangjing Printing, they do great work!

PRINTS!

Although the deck progress is outside of my control, I have not been just sitting on my hands! I printed the first half of the mini linocut prints last Thursday, and will print the other half this coming Thursday. My ever-lovely assistant Maristella totally rocked and made this process so much easier and cleaner. She also took the pics :)

whoomp there it is

This was the first edition I printed on my new press Esther, who is an absolute beast and ran like a dream. I got super lucky and found her for sale on the Albuquerque Craigslist for a fraction of what she's worth. I didn't think I'd be getting a press for another 5-10 years, but I guess she had different plans. For now, she lives in my cluttered garage with yard equipment and band merch. One of these days, I'll have a proper set-up, but in the meantime this is working surprisingly well. I've named my publication company A Cult of Weavers, and I'm currently working on the shop chop that will get embossed on all these prints!

I will send out a survey in the next 2 weeks asking everyone what image they prefer once the editions are complete. Again, it's one print per deck ordered, so if you get more than one deck you'll get more than one print! I'm only running 66 of each image, so you'll want to choose as soon as possible once those surveys go out if a specific image calls to you. I will post an update soon that will have the date and time these surveys go live in order to give everyone a fair shot at getting what print(s) they want.

READING CLOTHS!

I got all the black cotton cloths in the mail, and dropped them off at the screen printers yesterday. I think they are gonna look sooooo good! He said he'll be able to start working on them early to mid-March. I'll post pics when I go over there and "help" (read: drink a beer and take them pics while he does all the work).

EXTRAS!

I had those 5"x7" black cotton bags made, which were unfortunately not exactly what I ordered. They used white ink instead of silver, and the image is so close to the bottom of the bag it falls off the edge when the cards are inside. This leaves a big empty space at the top. There were also unpatched pinholes in the screens they used to print the images, which results in every bag having random white dots that don't belong within the image. Ultimately they are not up to my standard and I don't feel comfortable sending them out.

bummer

Maybe most people wouldn't care about this, but I'm obnoxiously meticulous about the quality of my products, so back it goes. Thankfully, this will not affect when your pledges get shipped out, as the replacements will still arrive before the decks do.

I did get the 2" round Hermit stickers that are also included with deck orders, which look fantastic! I've been rocking a couple on my headphones.

That's all for now! As always, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have.

Yours in creation,

-Emi B
